The mission of the Computer Science program is to train competent, ethical computer scientists who are educated within the Christian liberal arts tradition from which future career and academic opportunities can emerge. This philosophy of education places life-long learning as the key to a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Computer Science majors are able to emphasize Business Information Systems or Software Development by selecting a track within the major.
|
All computer science majors, regardless of track, must take the following core courses (34 hours):
Business Information Systems Track:
The Business Information Systems Track consists of the 34-hour core plus the courses listed below.
Any two courses from among:
Any two upper-level electives (approved by the department) in computer science, cybersecurity, or related areas
Software Development Track:
The Software Development Track consists of the 34-hour core plus the courses listed below. This is the recommended track for students who are considering graduate school.
Any two upper-level electives (approved by the department) in computer science, cybersecurity, or related areas
Note:
Students must have a minimum major GPA of 2.25 to graduate with the computer science major. If a student is pursuing computer science as the primary major, an internship is required. If a student is pursuing dual majors within the Department of Business and Technologies that require internships, only one internship would be required to fulfill that requirement in each major.
