NURS 213 - Foundations in Nursing Practice I: Clinical (1) The focus of this course is on the beginning application of core competencies and knowledge to create a foundation for safe nursing practice. Emphasis is on scientific rationale, clinical judgment and competence in the implementation of skills within the framework of the nursing process. Physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual variables are introduced as they relate to the nursing process and patient-centered care. Critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills consistent with biblical principles will be utilized to manage information and provide culturally appropriate care. Students will demonstrate competency in technical skills and the professional nursing role within the laboratory, simulation and clinical setting. Course fee.
Co-requisite(s): NURS 207 .
Offered each Fall and Summer. Transfer students must have Division approval before registering for this course.
