ART 304 - Introduction to Drawing (3) This course introduces students to the foundational principles of drawing, with an emphasis on observation, still life, and figure, in order to reflect and understand the complexity of creation. Through a variety of exercises and assignments, students will explore various techniques using both wet (ink and washes) and dry media (conte crayon, charcoal, graphite), as well as methods that build skills that will be valuable in multiple artistic contexts. Students will also focus on composition, perspective, line and value, and the use of color. The coursework is adaptable to accommodate individual skill levels.
Offered Fall 2025 and alternate Fall semesters.
