NURS 202 - Health-Focused Cultural Theory (2) This course is designed to explore the concept of culture; developing student abilities to observe, engage, and connect with a variety of cultures The students will learn how to, with beginning proficiency, assess and explore their own cultural biases in order to better understand both their and other culture’s nuisances, values, and beliefs. Knowledge is gained about values, beliefs, and practices that influence the health practices of various cultural and ethnic peoples and groups.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 213, 215 for nursing majors.
Offered each Spring. The NURS 202/203 sequence is available to nursing and non-nursing majors as an option for meeting the Global Encounters component of the General Education Program.
