NURS 215 - Foundations in Nursing Practice I: Theory (2) The focus of this course is on the beginning understanding of the core competencies and knowledge to create a foundation for safe nursing practice. Emphasis is on scientific rationale, clinical judgment and competence in the utilization of skills within the framework of the nursing process. Physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual variables are introduced as they relate to the nursing process and patient-centered care. Concurrent with NURS 213.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 131, 132; two additional support courses from among BIOL 190, 371; CHEM 115; PSYC 121, 220. Prerequisite or co-requisite: NURS 112.
Offered each Fall. Transfer students must have Department approval before registering for this course.
