The Integrated Social Studies major is a 54-hour interdisciplinary teaching major comprised of a 36-hour core and an 18-hour concentration area. It prepares students to teach in Ohio Secondary Schools in the fields of history, government, and sociology.

The 36-hour core of the major includes:

Students must choose one of the following three 18-hour concentrations:
History Concentration:
Any 3 non-western (nw) and any 3 western (w) upper-level history courses. Political Science Concentration:
Any 3 American and any 3 international upper-level political science courses. Sociology Concentration:
Any 6 upper-level sociology courses. Additional Information
Students pursuing the Integrated Social Studies major must maintain a minimum 2.75 major and cumulative GPA to progress through the teacher licensure program and to register for education courses at the 300 level or above. Praxis I basic skills tests should be taken during EDUC 112 with a minimum score of 175.
