EDUC 476 - Methods of Teaching AYA Content

(3)
A comprehensive and inclusive methods course integrates the subject material in grades 7-12 of language arts, social studies, math, and science, for all types of learners. Application for all content areas will be made through the use of high leverage practices (HLPs), the basic fundamentals of teaching, and universal design for learning (UDL). These are practices which are used constantly in inclusive settings and are critical to helping teach important content and also central to supporting students’ social and emotional development. They are “high-leverage” not only because they matter to 7-12 student learning but because they are basic for advancing skill in teaching. Course presentations will include guest speakers specific to each content area. This course includes 60 hours of field experience.

Co-requisite(s): EDUC 417.

Offered each Fall.
