SPED 496 - Special Education (K-12) Student Teaching(12) For those seeking the Intervention Specialist license. A full-time clinical experience providing opportunities to observe, plan, conduct, and evaluate instruction in a school setting and receive professional feedback from university supervisors and experienced cooperating teachers in the appropriate licensure area, equally divided between two placements across the licensure area, for a minimum of 15 weeks (minimum - 450 clock hours). Attendance at additional duties associated with the teaching role is expected (i.e., parent-teacher conferences, professional meetings, etc.). Those registering for student teaching must also register for . Application for student teaching should be made in November preceding the academic year in which student teaching is to be completed.
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance as a candidate for clinical experience and satisfactory completion of all professional education course work. Co-requisite(s): EDUC 460
