Criminal and Restorative Justice, BA to Juris Doctor 3 + 3 Program

Within this program, students will be required to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours in total. Students will complete a minimum of 90 credits hours in coursework at Malone University within the first three academic years. This includes required core courses within the Criminal and Restorative Justice major and the required General Education coursework . Within the fourth academic year, students will be required to completed 30 “transient” credit hours of coursework within the School of Law at the University of Akron. This transient coursework completed the University of Akron will count towards their Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal and Restorative Justice from Malone University.

Academic Years One, Two, and Three
Students will complete the following coursework at Malone University within the first three academic years: 30 credit hours of core coursework in Criminal and Restorative Justice
Plus 9-10 credit hours of selected courses
Additional credit hours of selected coursework to meet the 90-credit hour minimum
Malone University students who have completed three years or more of their Bachelor’s degree in Criminal and Restorative Justice will be automatically admitted into the Akron School of Law, as long as they: - Are in good standing academically, financially, and from a disciplinary perspective at Malone University;
- Meet the character and fitness standards required of all students admitted to the Akron School of Law;
- Have an LSAT score that is at or above the 25th percentile of the previous year’s entering class at the University of Akron, and not below a 151; and
- Have an undergraduate grade point average at or above the median of the previous Akron School of Law entering class (currently 3.4 GPA).
Academic Year Four
Students will complete the following coursework within the School of Law at the University of Akron. - TRAN 4X000 9200 611 Contracts (4 credit hours)

- TRAN 4X000 9200 601 Civil Procedure - Federal Jurisdiction (3 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 619 Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing (LARW) I (3 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 609 Fundamentals of Lawyering (0 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 624 Fundamentals of Lawyering II (1 credit hour)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 602 Civil Procedure - Federal Litigation (3 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 607 Criminal Law (3 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 645 Property (4 credit hours)
- TRAN 4X000 9200 620 Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing (LARW) II (3 credit hours)

Total Credit Hours transferred from the University of Akron: Minimum of 30
Students must complete a total minimum of 120 credit hours to complete their Bachelor’s degree in Criminal and Restorative Justice from Malone University.
