Certificate in Piano Pedagogy

The certificate in piano pedagogy is a course of study designed to instruct the pianist in the art of studio teaching. The certificate is available to both music majors and non-music majors. An audition/conference is required before acceptance into the program as well as attainment of 200-level performance.

The 25-credit-hour certificate program consists of the following:

22 credit hours of core requirements:

3 credit hours of electives selected from the following:

Additional requirements:

  • A 30-45 minute lecture recital
  • A year of teaching a minimum of two students per term in the Malone Piano Preparatory Program
