A major consists of 48 hours of business, accounting, and economics courses.

Additional Information

Students must have a minimum major GPA of 2.25 to graduate with the business administration major.

BUS 240  meets the MATH/PSYC 140 requirement under the Foundational Skills (Quantitative Reasoning) component of the General Education program. ECON 202  meets the Understanding Persons in Society, in the Engaging in Human Experience requirements of the General Education program.

One way to strengthen a business administration major is by adding a minor. Students may not minor in the major of the same name. Adding one or more minors demonstrates students’ deeper interests in areas associated with/or applicable to their career interests. The Division of Business and Technologies offers 12 minors. In general, minors require 5-6 courses of study, with at least 9 hours of study being unique to that minor (i.e., not counting for any other requirement). For example, since BUS 311 - Principles of Marketing  is required in both the Business Administration major and the Marketing minor, it would not count as part of the 9 unique hours in the minor. Students may have courses in their minors which satisfy the upper division business/economics elective requirements for the business administration major. However, the two electives are part of the major; so students still need 9 unique hours to count for the minor. Students should work with their academic advisers to determine how this applies to their desired courses of study. For additional information on requirements for minors, see Minors .
