Requirements include 11 hours as follows:

• MUS 135 - Music Theory and Aural Skills I
• MUS 153 - Keyboard Harmony I
• One course from among:
  1. MUS 371 - Music History I - Ancient through Classical (ca. 1900)  or
  2. MUS 372 - Music History II - Classical through the Present  or
  3. MUS 374 - Survey of World Music  
• 4 hours of major ensemble (MUS 210, 220) or approved ensemble

The remaining 7 hours are to be selected from…

the music curriculum in consultation with an adviser from the music faculty. A minimum of four of the required hours must be taken at the 300 or 400 level.

Other specifications:

1. Piano Proficiency completed before acceptance into the minor
2. Recital attendance each semester of enrollment
3. Participation for credit in major ensemble (MUS 210 or 220) each semester of enrollment
