Educational Leadership

The Master of Science in Educational Leadership program prepares teachers to become leaders in instruction, classroom management, and other critical areas in education. Program content includes research into multimodal data-driven leadership simulations; restorative practices, inclusive and ethical leadership are emphasized. Upon completion of the program and the specialty exam in the area of educational leadership that is required by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE), the candidate will receive a license as an educational leader. To qualify for the principal license, a candidate must hold the Master’s degree, pass the prescribed examination, have a valid Ohio teaching certificate/license, and have two years of successful teaching at the age level for which the principal license is sought. A candidate who already has a master’s degree may pursue the licensure program by completing the coursework indicated as licensure only (*). 

Courses are offered online and have been developed by practitioners, for practitioners. The program consists of 13 semester hours of Foundation courses, 6 semester hours of Core courses, and 19 semester hours of Cognate courses for a total of 38 credit hours.
