Intervention Specialist License

The Intervention Specialist graduate program is designed for individuals who already have an undergraduate degree in any content area and prepares them to teach students with disabilities in grades K-12. The program leads to an initial Ohio special education license of Intervention Specialist: Mild/Moderate. Program courses include content in educational foundations, learning theory, assessment, instructional methodology and accommodations, instructional technology, reading instruction, exceptionalities, and classroom management. A semester of full-time student teaching is required.

The degree program consists of 9 semester hours of Graduate Foundation courses, 16 hours of Educational Foundations courses, and 39 hours of Core courses.

**Ohio Assessment for Educators Examinations are required by The Ohio Department of Education for licensure.
