The Intervention Specialist graduate program is designed for individuals who already have an undergraduate degree in any content area and prepares them to teach students with disabilities in grades K-12. The program leads to an initial Ohio special education license of Intervention Specialist: Mild/Moderate. Program courses include content in educational foundations, learning theory, assessment, instructional methodology and accommodations, instructional technology, reading instruction, exceptionalities, and classroom management. A semester of full-time student teaching is required.
The degree program consists of 9-11 semester hours of Graduate Foundation courses, 16 hours of Educational Foundations courses, and 39 hours of Core courses.
**Ohio Assessment for Educators Examinations are required by The Ohio Department of Education for licensure.
