Art History is a springboard to many exciting careers in the art world, from museums and art galleries to teaching at the university level, and much more. A degree in art history provides a great foundation for a future career in the arts. Students have access to a number of museums in the area such as the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Akron Art Museum, and the Canton Museum of Art. Internships are available within museums and galleries, including the Malone Art Gallery where students are involved in planning, marketing, and installing exhibitions. Faculty are active in the local arts community and have working experience in the museum field, giving students the opportunity to work alongside them to find their niches within the art history field.
