MSW 635 - Neuroscience and Addiction for Social Work (3) This course covers the intricate relationship between brain function and addictive behaviors. Through an interdisciplinary lens, students will examine key concepts in neuroscience to understand the biological underpinnings of addiction, including neurobiology, the impact of substances on the brain, and the psychological implications for individuals and communities. The course emphasizes evidence-based practices to integrate theoretical frameworks with practical applications to better serve clients struggling with addictive behaviors.
