MSW 654 - Spirituality and Religion in Social Work Practice (3) This course explores the intersection of spirituality, religion, and ethical considerations within social work practice. Students will examine diverse religious traditions and spiritual perspectives, analyzing their own ethical decision-making and client engagement. Through case studies, reflective practices, and discussion, students will learn how to ethically integrate clients’ spiritual and religious beliefs into holistic assessment and intervention strategies. This course explores cultural humility and curiosity to improve the student’s anti-oppressive social work practice and aims to equip future social workers with skills to navigate ethical dilemmas while respecting and advocating for the spiritual needs of diverse populations.
Prerequisite(s): Advanced Standing.
