This course provides an exploration of mental health diagnosis from a social work perspective, integrating the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) with alternative theoretical frameworks. Students will delve into the ethical implications of mental health assessments, the socio-cultural factors influencing diagnosis, and the impact of systemic issues on individuals’ mental health.
