ENG 231 - Introduction to Creative Writing

(3)
Human beings bear the image of our Creator God, and though we don’t create ex nihilo (“out of nothing”) as he does, we reflect God through our making. In this creative writing course, students will develop a writing rhythm in order to exercise their creativity and grow in appreciation of the literary arts-all the while crafting fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.  The class entails a workshop component and culminates in students curating a final portfolio with revised work from all three genres, which will stand in lieu of a cumulative exam.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 145 .

Offered each semester.
