SOC 201 - Sociological Imagination - Seeing Your Neighbor

(3)
Sociology is the study of how people interact, form communities, and shape the structures that govern everyday life. In this course, you’ll be invited to develop your sociological imagination - a way of seeing how personal experiences are deeply connected to larger social forces. Through engaging with foundational theories, tools of inquiry, and diverse cultural perspectives, you’ll gain insight into both yourself and the world around you. Together, we’ll explore how race, class, gender, religion, and other social dynamics influence human behavior and relationships. Along the way, you’ll encounter the work of key thinkers who challenge us to reimagine society and participate in building a more just, inclusive, and compassionate world.

Offered each semester.
