COUN 635 - Addictions Counseling Practicum (3) Addictions Counseling Practicum is a one-semester, supervised counseling experience in which students serve as counselors-in-training at pre-arranged sites in which a minimum of 20% of clinical work includes an emphasis on addiction counseling. Practicum consists of a minimum of 200 clock hours, without a direct client contact minimum, under the supervision of a licensed independent chemical dependency counselor with supervisory status or a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisory status. Practicum clock hours will count toward the 2,000 practice experience clock hours required for LCDC II, LCDC III, and/or LICDC eligibility. Course content will include increasing knowledge of professional development practices, interdisciplinary work, and best supervision practices. Prerequisite(s): COUN 641, 642, 653, 654.
