COUN 628 - Treatment Methods in Clinical Counseling(3) Students learn to determine if and when a client is appropriate for treatment, to develop treatment plans and goals that represent the most effective form of treatment for the client, and to determine if the treatment plan is being successfully implemented. Explanations of making projections about length of stay, prognosis, and using consultation and referral in the event the client needs more specialized treatment modalities are also discussed. Elementary psychopharmacology is surveyed along with exposing students to several major methods of treatment and their application to various treatment situations based in clinically evidenced research.Prerequisite(s): COUN 622.Fall II.
