BIOL 253 - Invertebrate Zoology (3) This course is designed as an extrapolation into the basic structure, function, and ecology of invertebrates. It utilizes the knowledge gained from Organismal Biology to explore intricate mechanisms employed by invertebrates. In addition, potential evolutionary theories and mechanisms that may bring about diversity within populations are discussed. Weekly laboratories combined with a student invertebrate collection provide the student with firsthand experience of the invertebrates with which we live. Includes one 3-hour lab per week.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 147.
Offered each Spring.
