BIOL 115 - Animal Education Outreach (0.5-1) Students participating in the Educational Outreach program through the Malone Zoo will be provided the opportunity to utilize a variety of live animals for both on- and off-site programs. Through this experience, students will gain expertise in animal handling techniques, program planning, and public speaking. Training for such events will take place during mandatory weekly meetings. In addition, students will assimilate natural history fundamentals in the program presentation for the ultimate purpose of teaching conservation pertaining to global environmental issues.
Offered each semester. Grading is Credit/No Credit.
Credit will be awarded at 0.5 credits per 30 hours of educational outreach (including training sessions and educational programs). Students may repeat the course for credit each semester. This course serves only as elective credit.
