COUN 686 - Clinical Mental Health Counseling Internship II (3) The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Internship II is continued under the direct supervision of an appropriately licensed professional clinical counselor in a work setting where counseling services are rendered to actual clients. The primary focus of Internship is the overall development of the student as a Professional Clinical Counselor. The student completes the required 300 of the total 600 clock hours for the Internship. In addition to the required clock hours of direct/indirect service at the assigned Internship training site, each student will meet 2 1/2 hours bi-weekly on campus for group supervision during the semester of the Internship. A minimum of 2 1/2 hours of group supervision is required bi-weekly throughout the Internship and is performed by a program faculty member with competence in school counseling. Students must achieve a minimum of “B-” in order to successfully complete this course. If the required internship hours are not completed within the semester for which the student is registered, the student must register for an additional credit hour the following semester/s until all the required internship hours are completed. Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of COUN 685.
