BIOL 500 - Life Science for the Middle Grades(3) This course is an examination of the basic processes of living systems focusing on cellular structures and mechanisms including energy transfer in plants and animals. The course content is designed to address Academic Content Standards for Life Science of the Ohio Department for middle-level science in an inquiry-based instructional context. The specific topics covered in the course are the structure and function of membranes, photosynthesis, respiration, cell division, DNA structure and replication, and animal and plant life cycles.
