The Everett L. Cattell Library is located at the heart of Malone’s campus. The newly renovated structure, which was built in 1972, contains more than 150,000 books, audiovisuals, and periodicals selected to support the research needs of Malone’s students. In addition to an extensive collection of items in areas such as theology, education, nursing, and literature, it also features specialized collections in juvenile literature, educational curriculum materials, music CDs, graphic novels, DVDs, scores, and hymnals.

Malone students can also access millions of full-text journal articles and thousands of e-books through the library’s web page. These resources are provided by Malone in conjunction with several statewide library partnerships. Cooperation with groups such as OPAL, OhioLINK and SearchOhio, also allows easy access to nearly 50 million physical books and audiovisual items. Students can link from Malone’s library catalog to college, university, or public libraries throughout Ohio to request books, DVDs, and CDs that will be delivered directly to the Cattell Library.

Malone’s library maintains a strong connection with our Friends heritage and specifically with the Evangelical Friends Church-Eastern Region (EFC-ER). We house EFC-ER’s historical collection and provide a large selection of current and historical books relating to Ohio Friends. The library also preserves Malone University’s historical archive, dating back to Walter and Emma Malone’s founding of the Cleveland Bible College. Many students in Malone’s history classes have the opportunity to study this unique collection of primary source materials.

Other services available at the library:

  • 24 computers with Internet access and many software programs (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • WiFi
  • Black/white and color printers, copiers, and scanners
  • Fax services for Malone students
  • Individual and group study rooms
