The Curriculum and Instruction core is designed for educators who wish to strengthen their classroom instructional skill and knowledge. Educators in a variety of school settings, kindergarten through grade twelve, as well as those in business-training environments find this core area to be attractive. Reasons include its emphasis on contemporary educational issues in curriculum and instruction and its flexibility for candidates to tailor the program to fit their individual needs.
The degree program consists of a 15-semester-hour Foundation area, a Curriculum and Instruction Core of 10-12 hours, and 9-11 hours of electives to be chosen from graduate course offerings:

A. Foundation Courses (15 hours)
B. Required Core Courses (10-12 hours)
C. Electives (9-11 hours)
Courses may be selected from other graduate offerings in Education or from another discipline with prior approval of the Program Director. Graduate Workshop credits may constitute a maximum of four of the elective credits. |
