This major prepares students to be licensed to teach life science and chemistry. Upon completing this program (35 hours of Professional Education requirements and other requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree) and the required state licensure examinations, students may apply for a state license to teach life science and chemistry in grades 7-12. Because of the dual nature of this major (life science and chemistry), this major requires more than the standard number of hours and thus could take an additional semester to complete.
