COUN 654 - Implementing Evidence-Based Practices in Addictions Counseling (3)
This course will introduce evidence-based practices (EBPs) in addictions counseling including Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, Contingency Management, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. EBPs will be explored across individual, group, couples, and family counseling with an emphasis on relationships, family systems, group dynamics, and legal and ethical issues across EBPs regarding cross-cultural applications. Prerequisite(s): COUN 641, 642, 653.
