COUN 646 - Trauma-Informed Treatment Approaches (3)
This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of the treatment of trauma. Students will gain an understanding of trauma-informed stages of treatment and current evidence-based practices for various trauma- and stressor-related disorders. An emphasis will be placed on the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Case conceptualization and treatment planning exercises will be used to enhance the students’ skills. Current trends in interventions and treatment approaches for trauma will also be explored. Prerequisite(s): COUN 643, 644, 645.
