This practicum course includes didactic content related to acute and chronic health conditions to expand knowledge of procedures, skills, and clinical reasoning needed by the clinical nurse specialist. Practicum hours provide for continued clinical management of adult clients having acute and chronic health conditions. Settings and populations are chosen according to student specialty selection. Attention is given to the nurse educator role and to the support the CNS provides to nurses in direct care positions. In class sessions = 2 credit hours. Clinical assignments = 2 credit hours (160 clock hours). CNS students.Year Two-Spring Semester.
