EDUC 467 - Content Reading Strategies

This course provides a multidisciplinary support of reading development with an emphasis on content area reading. Attention is given to the development of skills in comprehension, vocabulary, word identification, the reading and writing process, grammar skills, and effective strategies for reading instruction across the content areas. Various speech and language patterns, dialects, and other issues of language diversity are considered. This course is required for majors in Early Childhood Education and Middle Childhood Education. Includes 20 field hours.

Prerequisite(s): EDUC/SPED 122.
