(3)An overview of the history of the field of communication and the predominant theories which guide scholarship. Students will develop a working knowledge of theories that explain a wide range of communication phenomena, explore applications of those theories and examine the relationships among different theoretical positions.
Prerequisite(s): COMM 110; junior or senior standing.
