Campus Safety

Campus Safety assists in the safety of all persons at Malone and the protection of both personal and University property. All officers are professionally trained to perform their duties and are here to help as well as to protect. The full cooperation of every student is required whenever confronted by a safety officer.

The campus buildings are closed and locked when not in use. Entrance to a locked building is permitted only with the written permission of the staff member responsible for that area. Any student violating campus regulations or refusing to cooperate with a safety officer is subject to discipline up to and including suspension or expulsion from the University.

Campus Safety can be easily reached if help is needed in an emergency situation. From off campus, call 330.471.8111; from on campus call extension 8111. These numbers will be answered twenty-four hours a day. The Safety Department is here to help when needed. For more information, please refer to the “Home Malone, A Guide to Campus Safety” brochure.

Campus Store

The Campus Store is located in the lower level of Brehme Centennial Center. To assist graduate students, books may be ordered on the Campus Store website https://malone.treeoflifebooks.com, by phone, or in person in the Campus Store. The Campus Store will mail the text(s) within 24 hours of receipt of the order. The Campus Store offers a rental program for books, along with used and new copies of books. Rental books are due back during finals weeks for undergraduate classes (December 11-15, 2017; April 30-May 4, 2018). The Campus Store also offers book buyback every day. Questions regarding textbooks, prices, shipping, or other services may be directed to the Campus Store by calling 330.471.8310. When calling about textbooks, graduate students should have the pertinent course information available during the call.

Career Development and Counseling Services

Our mission is to assist students as they begin to discover God’s plan for their career/vocational goals. We seek to prepare students for making informed choices about the alignment of their skills and interests with chosen fields of study. Students can explore career options and gaining direction by using Malone.MyPlan.com. This free resource helps students assess personality preferences, skills, interests, and work values. Students can research hundreds of occupations and academic programs to determine their best fit. The system will also help students determine which careers match with their major areas of study. We are happy to meet with students needing assistance to interpret the test results. Students uncertain of their career paths can receive free career counseling by trained counselors by appointment.

College Central Network is a web-based job posting and résumé referral system that connects students with employers in the Northeast Ohio area and nationwide. Features include a national online job/internship posting board, résumé template with a variety of styles from which to choose, career-related announcements of on- and off-campus events, document library, and career advice videos. More information is available at vocation@malone.edu.

Student Accessibility Services

Support Services are provided by the CSS to empower students with qualifying disabilities to maximize their educational and academic potential. Students seeking those services must provide documentation of their specific disabilities (physical, learning, or psychological). Based on the received documentation, academic accommodations, housing accommodations, adaptive technology, and social support can be provided. Students with disabilities should call the office for individual pre-enrollment appointments if they choose to self-disclose disabilities and plan to request accommodations. We will work with each individual student to determine appropriate accommodations. All students with disabilities are responsible to request the renewal of the accommodations prior to the start of each semester for as many of their classes as they so choose.
